Opposite the reception/shop is our canoe center where you can rent canoes, kayaks, rowing boats and bicycles (single and tandem). We will help you with your itinerary, we will provide you with maps, fishing tips, fishing cards and everything else you need for a successful adventure! The canoe center is open every day during peak season between 09-10 am and 13-14 pm. See pricelist below.

Canoes, kayaks and boats

We, together with our colleagues around the lakesystem, offer you a large number of canoes, kayaks and boats. In our canoe center you can rent them for an hour, days or even weeks - you decide! We also have all the equipment you will need for your trip.

The lakesystem Dalsland-Nordmarken is one of Europe's finest, with clean air, fresh water and rich nature. Here awaits innumerable lakes and streams, well suitable for canoing. DANO, which is an abbreviation of the Dalsland-Nordmarken lakesystem, lies within the Swedish provinces Dalsland and Värmland. Our staff will be happy to help you plan your itinerary within the DANO area!

Bicycles

Something that we at Sommarvik recommend is to rent bicycles and cycle off towards new adventures in our beautiful surroundings! And if you haven't tried tandem bicycles before, this will be a good time to do it - you will all be roaring with laughter by the end of the day! You can rent the bicycles for an hour or for several days - you decide!

Canoe/trolley package

We will also be glad to help you book rail pedal trolleys! Trolley riding is a different and exciting adventure for the whole family! Imagine pedalling straight into the wilderness, meeting it in a different way. Long, isolated stretches far from roads and traffic can be enjoyed with a minimum of effort.

We also recommend you to try the canoe/trolley package where you first pedal your way down to Kråkviken on the old railway and then paddle your way back again by canoe. A real wildlife adventure!

Discover the nature of Dalsland and Värmland by rail pedal trolleys and canoes! In the year 1985 the public transport on the Dalsland West Värmland railroad ceased to exist. Instead, the railroad is now used for pedalling trolleys. The route is 32 km long and stretches between Årjäng and Kråkviken.

In the canoe/trolley package we combine one day trolley ride with 2-3 days of canoing alongside the lakesystem of Dalsland's canal. You can start your journey in Årjäng or in Kråkviken - that's up to you to decide.
